5 EASY STEPS TO TIE A SLIDING KNOT
Step 1: Unravel a little ball of yarn and select a spot on the yarn string where you want to start.
Step 2: Make a loop with working yarn that attaches to the ball of yarn in your right hand, placing the yarn from the right side onto the tail of the yarn from the left side.
Step 3: Hold this loop between your left thumb and forefinger.
Step 4: Take a working yarn (the thread that is attached to the ball) and make another loop by pulling on it. Start at the bottom of the first loop and feed through the top.
Step 5: Hold the base of the knot with your left hand and pull the loop with your right hand up slightly until it becomes a slip knot.
Using the finished slide knot: You can now slightly tighten the slide knot by pulling on the working yarn, or loosen it by pulling upwards.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE SLIDING KNOT IN KNITTING?
When knitting, a slip knot is often your first step when you start knitting. Every knitting project starts with inserting stitches into our knitting needle. It slides or slides to easily find the size you want, so it sits securely and securely on our knitting needle. This is an easy way to take a working yarn and create a loop that will fit the knitting needle. Once you have a slip knot on the needle, you can start overlaying stitches.
